Guest Speaker: Charlie Forman.
When horses ran London. A look-back to London before cars.
Without its horses, London in 1900 would have ground to a halt – no buses, no deliveries, no goods trains. This talk is an eye opener to what is still there - the mews, horse hospitals, cab shelters and drinking troughs - with what is less apparent today - like the horsepower each bus route needed, and why flogging a dead horse wasn't just a turn of phrase.
As a London walking tour guide and lecturer, Charlie Foreman highlights the social, architectural and artistic history of his home city about which he is passionate.
